Udext's subgroup feature allows for more nuanced and targeted messaging within larger groups. This feature is particularly useful for organizing your contacts based on specific criteria like location, department, or shifts. Here's a simple guide to help you create and manage subgroups effectively.

Creating Subgroups within a Group

  1. Select a Parent Group:

    • Navigate to the 'Groups' section in your Udext account.

    • Click on the group within which you want to create a subgroup.

  2. Create a New Subgroup:

    • Look for the option "Create Sub-Group" within the selected group.

    • Click on "Create Sub-Group" and enter a unique name for your new subgroup.

Assigning Subgroups to a Parent Group

  • Unique Identification: Ensure that the names of groups and subgroups are distinct and unique.

  • Parent Group Association: When creating a subgroup, it automatically becomes associated with the parent group you selected initially.

Example of Subgroup Usage

  • Scenario: Imagine you have a group named "Seattle Office". Within this group, you can create subgroups like "Morning Shift", "Evening Shift", or "HR Department".

  • Application: This structure allows you to send targeted messages to specific teams or shifts within the larger "Seattle Office" group.

Targeted Messaging with Subgroups

  • Subgroup Indentation: When selecting groups for broadcasting messages, subgroups are shown indented under their parent groups for easy identification.

  • Message Distribution: If you send a message to a parent group, it automatically includes all members of the subgroups under it.
