Udext is optimized for communicating with contacts already in your system. However, when you receive messages from unknown contacts, Udext provides a straightforward process to handle these interactions. Here's a guide to managing unknown contacts in Udext.

Identifying Unknown Contacts

  1. Receiving Messages from Unrecognized Numbers:

    • When an unknown contact sends a message to your company phone number, it appears in your inbox labeled as "Unknown Contact".

    • You can view the message but cannot reply directly until the contact is added to your system.

Adding Unknown Contacts to Your System

  1. Locate the 'Add to Contact' Button:

    • In the conversation with the unknown contact, look for the "Add to Contact" button.

  2. Quickly Add the Contact:

    • Click on "Add to Contact". This allows you to add the unknown number to your contact list quickly.

    • Enter the necessary details, such as the contact name. Optionally, you'll be able to assign them to a specific group(s) at this stage.

  3. Initiate Communication:

    • Once the contact is added, you can start communicating with them through Udext.

Restrictions on Unknown Contacts

  • Reply Limitation: Until an unknown number is added as a contact, you won’t be able to send messages to this number.

  • Archiving Conversations: If the unknown contact is irrelevant, you have the option to archive the conversation to keep your inbox organized.
