Ensuring the security and timely relevance of shared files and images is crucial in any organization. Udext's Link Expiration feature allows account owners to control how long shared links remain active. Here's an easy guide to setting up link expiration.

Understanding Link Conversion

  1. Automatic URL Conversion:

    • When files or images are sent through Udext, the system automatically converts them into URLs. Recipients receive these as clickable links.

Configuring Link Expiration Time

  1. Access General Settings:

    • Go to the 'General Settings' in your Udext account.

  2. Navigate to Link Expiration:

    • Find the option labeled "Link Expiration Time."

  3. Choose Expiration Interval:

    • Select the desired time interval for link expiration. The available options are:

      • 1 day

      • 1 week

      • 1 month

      • 3 months

      • 12 months

      • Forever (default setting)

    • By default, links are set never to expire ('Forever'). However, this can be changed to suit your organizational needs.

Applying Settings Organization-Wide

  • Unified Expiration Policy:

    • Changing the link expiration setting will apply organization-wide. This ensures a consistent approach to link validity across all communications.

Ensuring Secure and Timely Access

With the Link Expiration feature, you can balance the need for secure, controlled access to shared content with the convenience of URL links. This feature is particularly useful for maintaining the confidentiality and relevance of shared information.
